Liminal Spaces: Body, Tech & Performance

I led and designed a hands-on Hacklab, workshop and public showcase at Fringe Festival, diving into the space where body and technology meet, where traditional movement practices collide with emerging media. For me, it was all about transformation: the body as vessel, technology as extension, and together imagining what performance can become.

I wanted participants — performers, designers, and makers — to explore how live experiences can be reshaped by blending bodies, materials, and interactive tech. Projection mapping, TouchDesigner, and real-time visuals became extensions of their instincts, giving movements new dimensions.

The day unfolded in three phases:
  1. Workshop
Playing with tools & inspiration – exploring examples of how technology can amplify performance, while getting hands-on with platforms for interactivity.
  2. Hacklab
Experiment & perform – breaking into small groups to test ideas and turn them into short live pieces. By the end, we had a showcase full of alive, surprising, and completely unique performances.
  3. Showcase
Open for general public during Fringe Festival, we could talk about challenges, builds, concepts and showcase with short performances, inviting public to also participate.

I was amazed by the energy in the room.
Many participants had never used TouchDesigner before, but they quickly engaged with the logic and possibilities, building intuitive prototypes of their own.
The workshop even got record applications, which made me so happy, it showed how interested people are to explore this liminal space between body, tech, and performance.

Thank you everyone who made this possible:
