Serei@ comprises in a series of works exploring transformation through intuition.
This project flows in waves across mediums, places and experiences.

PHASE I: SOUND WORLD

Serei@ was developed as a sound world during Unmute residency, and Culture Moves Europe training/Residency. To explore use of AI tools for sound projects.

CONCEPT

In Portuguese, Serei means “I will be” and Sereia means “Siren.”

Drawn from Brazilian folklore, from the enchanting Iara to Iemanjá, queen of the ocean.
She carries the Wild Woman archetype: bold, untamed, often misunderstood.

For the artist, she is an alter ego, a metaphor for defiance, voice, and the journey of creating on one’s own terms. Challenging norms can feel like sinking alone into deep waters.
Yet in that solitude, we discover what can never be taken: our voice, instincts, and lived experience.
This duality speaks to becoming, belonging, myth, and self.

Inside this work, you are drawn into her inner world, cold, damp, and strangely unsettling.
The journey asks you to listen to your sixth sense, trust your wildness, and perhaps surface carrying a new breath of light.

Fluid and evolving, this project has shifted across sound, AI experiments, short films, labs, and now a world-building experience, each phase reflecting exploration, defiance, and becoming.

DEVELOPMENT

Creating a library of sound that could be visually translated in submersion, ethereal, and soundtrack, bringing elements of Brazilian and Latin percussion.
This was development during 3-months and two residencies.

Documentation of Sound Residency Culture, Moves Europe
@Curiosibot, Valencia, Spain

As part of Culture Moves Europe funded by the Goethe Institute, I spent 4 weeks under the apprenticeship of Alayna Hughes from Curiosibot exploring AI-based sound design tools and workflows to develop what it became my project Serei@
During this residency, I documented and experimented with various VST plug-ins, cloud-based platforms like Google Colab, Magenta, Neutone Morpho, and attempted training models using RAVE and Dance Diffusion.

This process expanded my understanding of current AI technology for sound creation, especially in relation to datasets and generative possibilities. It was a learning curve—filled with both experimentation and creative output—leading me to build a rich sample library from synthesizer-based compositions and my own audio explorations.
